Kindness is Given, Trust is Earned

It is springtime here in the USA and the feeling of renewal is literally in the air! Covid is subsiding and we can intentionally re-define daily life and work.

We face the tragedy of war inflicted by Russia upon the innocent people of the Ukraine, high inflation and constant uncertainty.

These significant situations are driving a continued dissonance. We are challenged with emotional, mental, and personal trials.

Amidst this backdrop I have found a profound need to simplify my thoughts, feelings, and life.

Leonardo DaVinci said, “Simplification is the ultimate sophistication.” Truth.

Do our greatest joys derive from beloved family, friends, wonderful people at work, church, and various communities & groups? For me, the answer is a thunderous yes.

As we serve, sacrifice, and seek to lift one another … a thought and several words have helped me, and I hope will benefit you.

Kindness is Given, Trust is Earned

I can always be kind. Every person we meet is of infinite value. Our opportunity is to seek to lift, inspire each person we meet — at minimum I know being kind is always my best choice.

When I fall short, which I do, pondering the following words are a poignant motivator for me to improve how I treat others and myself.

Genshai is an ancient word that means “Never treat another person in a manner that would make them feel small — including yourself.”

The Spiritual Significance of “Namaste”. Namaste recognizes the belief that the light (life force), the Divinity, the Self, or the God in me is the same in all. Our in summary, the divine in me honors the divine in you.

Our actions, service, and compassion for one another builds trust. We each have sad experiences where we or people we may even love let us down, take advantage, abuse or in summary break trust.

In my view, even deep love (of every variety) has a foundational pillar of trust. Trust must be earned. Trusted relationships are to be cherished — they don’t come along often — let’s nurture trust.

Thank you for your goodness and may we each be kind and earn trust with one another. Cheers!
